Hair Care Tips For Healthy Happy Hair

It’s not hard for your hair to look fabulous every day. You don’t have to be lucky to have a good hair day everyday. People don’t realise that they can damage their, if they don’t take care of it like they should.  I was born with naturally straight hair ( thank you, mom and dad!), but I remember my mother putting a lot of smelly things on it too. She would put so much on my hair every week and I kid you not, they were so long and beautiful and healthy. Then I got into the habit of cutting and colouring them, and well.. they are just not the same( The story of most of us).

With these Tips you can rejuvenate your damaged hair, and I promise you if you follow it religiously IT WILL WORK.

1) Don’t wash your hair every day:

Yes, there is no need to wash your hair everyday. Wash it every alternative day. Use dry shampoo when your hair starts getting oily. If you don’t want to spend money, then use Talcum Powder. Sprinkle it on the roots only and then after 2-3 minutes brush your hair so it doesn’t look white. All through 4 years of high school, I did this. No one suspected a thing 😉

2) Baking Soda:

I recently started using this and ILOVEIT!

Baking soda is not only very cheap but also wonderful. It’s used for teeth whitening and if you put some of it in your shampoo, your scalp feels very refreshing and your hair gains its natural glow.  I started doing it about 2 weeks ago, and my hair feels great.

3) Conditioner:

Let me be honest here, I hate conditioning my hair. I feel like it’s a lot of work and I am just lazy. But after I got Ombré  done, my hair obviously damaged from bleach and so I started conditioning. My trick here is to not condition the whole head. Before you shampoo, take some conditioner and put it on coloured hair, and then go ahead and shampoo your scalp. 🙂

If you don’t want to buy a conditioner, take some Mayonnaise and put it on the ends.


Every week at least once pick a day and put oil ( preferably coconut or olive oil) on your hair. Massage for a good 30 minutes, and wash.

Oiling is great for your hair. Because we use so much product and heat on our hair, our hair tends to become weak and loses its natural oils. So oiling helps bring our hair back to life.

5) For dandruff:

I suffer from dandruff and I hate it. With this trick I was able to control it. It is still there but I am hoping eventually it will finish. So what I do is 30 mins before I am about to take a shower, I put apple cider vinegar on the roots with a cotton ball.

5 tbsp. of water followed by 5 tbsp. of Apple cider vinegar 

and then shampoo your hair with baking soda. It works wonders. Seriously.

6) Towel Dry Your Hair:

I can’t stress on this one enough. Yes, it is tempting to blow dry your hair, but the heat from the dryer damages our hair a lot. If you’re in a hurry, at least use a heat protectant. However, I don’t really think they work but they are made for some purpose, so I guess they must be doing something ?

7) Don’t brush wet hair: 

Lastly, when your hair is wet and you try to brush it to get rid of the tangles you actually break the hair. Always dry your hair first before you brush them. Always always always brush your hair before going to bed.
